Merry Christmas

We wish all of our friends and family a Merry Christmas.  The holiday season has been spent with Christmas programs and decorating.  One of our family traditions is taking a picture of the kids putting the star on the top of the tree with their festive hats on.  This year was no different except they insisted Grimm be part of it.  He was not too happy to be wearing his hat!!

Basketball 2013

Madeline joined the middle school basketball team.  The season was real short finishing before Christmas break.   There were lots of games during the week so we did lots of traveling.  She had a good season and we saw much improvement from her.  She is looking forward to playing again next year.

Halloween 2013

This year Kyler was Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for Halloween.  It was a beautiful day for trick or treating.  The day started with the elementary school Halloween parade, which Madeline participated in by marching in the band dressed as Santa Claus.

A Dream Come True

Travis had the opportunity of a lifetime… attend a Green Bay Packer football game at Lambeau Field.  He went with his brother and two nephews.  He was so excited and took in all he could.   Prior to the game they toured the facility and he met a man who was a member of the Board of Directors during the last championship Super Bowl team.  The man let Travis put on his Super Bowl ring for a picture!   It was a rainy day but the rain let up for the game.  The day was even better with a Packers win over the Washington Redskins.

Visit From The Tooth Fairy

Kyler was so excited to finally lose his first tooth.  He was worried that he would never lose any teeth and the tooth fairy would never visit.

Flag Football

This year Kyler played flag football through the YMCA.  He was so excited to finally be on a football team.  He mostly played guard but his favorite position was getting to play center.  He also really liked playing defense.

Cross Country

Madeline participated in cross country this fall.  She did very well and placed in most of her meets.  Her division ran a mile in competition.  For preparation she ran two days a week during the summer at 6:30 a.m.!!  We were really proud of her dedication and it paid off as her time reduced throughout the season.

First Day of School 2013

The first day of school rolled around quickly.   Madeline will begin school sports this year.  Kyler was excited to get the same teacher Madeline had in first grade.  The day went very well for both.

California Vacation

This year we made a trip to sunny Los Angeles, California. Michelle had a conference to attend at the Nixon Presidential Library so the family tagged along and made a vacation out of it. This was Kyler's first airplane ride so the captain let him try out his seat and hat! We spent two days at Disneyland taking in all the rides. Kyler was selected to participate in the Jedi Training show there.  He fought both Darth Vader and Darth Maul and resisted joining the Dark Side!  We also enjoyed the beach, although the waves were too rough to venture in the water. We attended Medieval Times where Madeline was selected to be the Queen of the Tournament for our section's knight. Kyler didn't spend much time in his seat as he was fighting right along with the knights. We walked around Hollywood and headed to Beverly Hills to walk along Rodeo Drive. Madeline was disappointed we wouldn't let her shop in any of the stores! The weather was fabulous, making it a great vacation.

Baseball

Kyler played machine pitch baseball again this year.  His highlight of the season was getting to put on the catcher's gear.  He had a lot of fun and is looking forward to playing again next year.

Dance Recital 2013

Madeline completed her 9th year of dance.  She did a solo to "Just a Game" from the Hunger Games soundtrack.  She looked very grown up with her costume, hair and make-up!

The Circus Has Come To Town

At the end of the school year the Kindergarten class created a circus for the school.  Kyler was the ringmaster for the Kindergarten Circus.  He had quite a few lines he had to memorize.  He did a good job keeping the circus on track.
