Nebraska Spring Game

Travis took the kids to the Nebraska Spring Game this year. They enjoyed a beautiful day watching football. During halftime they were able to go onto the football field to take a drug-free pledge. Kyler has been working on his three point stance so he had to show it off on the field. Of course, dad says this is only the first time of many that he will be playing football on the Husker field!

Easter

We had beautiful weather for Easter weekend. We went to church and had an Easter egg hunt at home. Kyler was very excited to search for eggs and even more excited when he found out there was candy inside! Madeline just noticed that the eggs looked just like the ones from last year.

Taylor Swift

As a birthday present from her parents and both grandparents, Madeline got tickets to the Taylor Swift concert in Wichita. She was very excited as this was not only her first concert but also one of her favorite singers. Travis and her sat in the sixth row so were very close to see all the action. She was absolutely thrilled when she got home with her t-shirt and other souvenirs.

Flat Stanley Night

Madeline's third grade class did a unique project known as Flat Stanley. We had to send Flat Madeline to stay with a friend or relative in another state/country for a couple of weeks. Madeline chose to send her "flat self" to our good friends Ryan and Aggie in Houston, Texas. While there Ryan and Aggie had to take Flat Madeline around with them and take pictures and write about what she saw. Flat Madeline had a unique experience in that Ryan is a pilot for a major airline so she not only went to Houston but also New Orleans, Philadelphia, Orlando and Fort Launderdale. Madeline then put together a poster with the pictures and tales of Flat Madeline's adventure. A special night was held at the school to show all the projects. A very special thank you to Ryan and Aggie for undergoing this project.

Kyler's 3rd Birthday

Kyler celebrated his third birthday with a Monster Jam themed party. Grammy Donna once again made a perfect cake for him. The El Toro Loco hat had to be worn for the party of course. I believe we now have enough monster trucks to host our own Monster Jam. He enjoyed celebrating his birthday with many friends and family.

Monster Jam

To celebrate Kyler's birthday, Travis took Kyler to Monster Jam in Kansas City. He absolutely loved it. He was so excited because his favorite monster truck Gravedigger was there. As you can see, he took home an El Toro Loco, another favorite, hat as a souvenir. He wouldn't let us take it off all night and had to wear it to his party the next day. We ended the celebration with a early supper at T-Rex restaurant. He enjoyed eating among the many dinosaurs.

Christmas 2009

It seems like Christmas came and went in our household. We enjoyed every minute of it. Madeline performed in the school Christmas program and the church program. She also played Christmas carols on the piano for church. Kyler really enjoyed the presents this year and decorating the tree. He was very good at keeping the ornaments on the tree, but really wanted to take down his tractor ornament to play with. We spent Christmas at both grandparents and enjoyed our visits.
