South Dakota

We attended a family wedding in the Black Hills of South Dakota. We used the opportunity to take in some family vacation time. We stayed in a beautiful lodge up in the hills with a canyon wall and stream in the backyard. It was breathtaking! We took in Mount Rushmore one day and also went to Bear Country. The kids loved being up close to nature as this was a drive through park. There is nothing else than having elk, reindeer, longhorn sheep and even bears right beside your car. We all enjoyed watching the baby bears being fed too. They were adorable and the kids wanted to take one home! We truly enjoyed our time as a family.

T-Ball

Kyler is enjoying his first year of t-ball. He can hit the ball good and loves running the bases, even sliding into home every time. Out in the field Kyler likes to try and get every ball that is hit. He is having fun and looks forward every week to his game.

Softball

Madeline is playing softball again this year. She has hit the ball a few times. She has played several positions, including catcher. Her team has done very well this year in league play.

VBS

This year's theme for Vacation Bible School was Pandamania. Kyler thought we were having a Kung Fu Panda 2 Bible School. The kids enjoyed a week full of crafts, snacks, games, music and Bible stories. This was Madeline's last year to attend Bible School. They performed a program for church. Kyler really got into the actions and songs.

Dance Recital

Madeline completed her 7th year of ballet this year. She chose to do a solo dance. This allowed her to pick her own music and costume. She looked very grown up and loved dancing on her own.

Easter

Easter was spent quietly at home. The kids did a local Easter egg hunt and woke on Easter to find eggs throughout our house.

Our Birds

A robin decided to build a nest on our garage light. It was exciting to watch the process from eggs to baby birds. We checked on our birds daily to see how they were doing.
